Project Overview
Bangor Castle was built in 1852. It is an elegant mansion in the Elizabethan, Jacobean revival style. The building is now used by the local council as offices.
Description of works
We carried out extensive stone repair, restoration and cleaning to Bangor Castle.
Works completed included;
- Extensive stone replacement
- Taking down and rebuilding of the battlements and clock tower
- Extensive deep void filling of the sandstone joints
- The entire building was cleaned using steam cleaning methods to protect the main fabric of the building
