Project Overview
We’re delighted to have been appointed as the restoration contractor to carry out works on the main front sections & steps of the Parliament Building’s at Stormont Estate, Belfast. These magnificent grade A listed buildings are built in Portland Stone and were opened in 1932.
Description of Works
- Undertake a detailed survey of the building façade to assess the condition of the stonework and identify any defects or deterioration.
- Carry out extensive and sensitive cleaning throughout the whole building.
- Undertake lime mortar repointing to areas of open joints and mortar loss between the stonework, to match existing in composition and finish.
- Carry out stone repairs where required.
- Throughout this project we will be working closely with both HED & client Architect to ensure the proper cleaning process & works are performed.
